Politics isn't normally my thing

Tue Nov 11, 2008, 10:34 AM
So I don't know much about politics in England. I know next to nothing about politics in America (so please forgive any bad name-spelling), which makes my History lessons hard (American Civil Rights 1800-1900 or some such). Just recently I wish that wasn't true.

Less than exciting, my year group at Sixth Form were recently visited by our local MP - a falsely jovial Conservative who barely managed to conceal his disregard for us called Ed. I couldn't hear half of what he was saying, partly because I was sitting at the back nd partly because I kept yawning (from being tired, not being bored), but what I had heard, I wish I'd been able to criticise better. I think I could have done if I understood politics more.

Much, MUCH more excitingly (especially if your name is Livi) is the fact that Barrack Obama was elected President. Every one of my friends is over the moon (partly because we had silly conspiracy theories about Palin killing McCain and taking over the world going around), but as soon as they start talking about anything in detail, I get lost =[

Mainly this is just me acknowledging my weakness on an important topic, but it's also a veiled attempt to get anyone to talk to me about Obama - I want to know if anyone's actually against him, or just people's opinions. I know that at least two people I talk to are voting Americans, too... Anyway. The doo-dah (picture thingy) for my mood is very cool, don't you think?

I saw that with Luke some time between Christmas and New Year... It is brilliant, but... Shiny vampires?

Can I borrow the book please?

xx

Right, he's not 'shiny'.
"His skin, white despite the faint flush from yesterday's hunting trip, literally sparkled, like thousands of tiny diamonds were embedded in the surface. He lay perfectly still in the grass, his shirt open over his sculpted, incandescent chest, his scintillating arms bare. His glistening, pale lavender lids were shut, though of course he didn't sleep. A perfect statue, carved in some unknown stone, smooth like marble, glittering like crystal."

So NUR!
Lolz

But you'll havta wait til chapter 13 of Twilight to read that again ^^ =]
